Soft Mermaid Blue Eyeshadow Tutorial

I did a look a few weeks back with was very blue and mermaidesque, you can check it out here and I wanted to do something using blues, but was more wearable. I went for a unique shape since it is a more simple look, and this look will be great on a lot of eye shapes including hooded eyes. If you want an easy to wear look for summer with this soft mermaid blue eyeshadow look just follow along.

I have a video too if you perfer those

Prime your eyes, I am using NARS Smudge Proof Primer.

Add a base shadow from the crease to the brow bone, I am using Mac Blanc Type (matte, cream) with a Simga E60.

Add some Mac Mylar (eggshell white, satin) to the lid, I used the same Simga E60 for this. If you have a deeper skintone than meed opt for something a touch lighter than your skintone with a matte or satin finish,

Take some Mac Wedge (matte, light  brown) through the crease using a Sigma E40.

Let's deepen the crease a touch more with Mac Brun (matte, black-brown) still using the Sigma E40 so it'll blend out well.

Take some Mac Wedge onto the lower lashline and blend it out.

Here's where it gets fun! Add some MakeupGeek Mermaid (shimmer, warm turquoise)  to the lowerlash line with a pencil brush.

Now continue from the lowerlash line up right above the crease with that same shadow.

Now that we've got that shape going on, add some Urban Decay Fringe  (shimmer, bright metallic teal) just to the inside of where wee placed Mermaid with a pencil brush.

Then take a touch of Urban Decay Gonzo (matte, bright turquoise matte with floating tonal pearl) just to the outer bit of the shape we created.

Here's another look at the same step.

Blend it all out with a MAC 217.

Add some liner. With this shape for the eyeshadow, I went for a down turned liner, rather than a wing. This is also really easy to do on hooded eyes.

Take some of The Balms (shimmer, light champagne) for an inner corner highlight.

Add some mascara (and lashes if you'd like) and you're done!
